Passive Skill Tree, PoB, and Gem Links

You can find an optimized Path of Building here. Every build I release will use the community fork of Path of Building, which is maintained and updated in a much more regular fashion than the original one. You can find PoB’s Fork, by LocalIdentity, here.

If you are not comfortable with Path of Building, we also have a PoePlanner for you. Do note that PoE Planner does not support Cluster Jewels and some specific unique jewels and it is highly recommended you install Path of Building to follow builds most optimally.

Progression Advice

Since this build works on low levels that generally means it will carry you fine into the endgame of Path of Exile. None of the items are required for it to progress through the earlier stages of the game but I’ll leave you with this Path of Building to give you an idea as to what I would suggest your tree looks like at the beginning of maps.

If you’re not comfortable with Path of Building, here’s a PoePlanner to give you an idea of how your tree should look like whenever you’re at about that level.

Gem Links

Glacial Cascade – Main Link (6-Link)

Make sure to maximize the usage of Blastchain Mines support to optimize Glacial Cascade damage! As the build runs no gems that have Awakened versions, none of them should be purchased. No Awakened gem can compete with any of these support gems.

Auras

The build runs two auras and really wants to use an Enlighten Support level 3 to maximize the amount of Mana it can reserve to throw mines.

After the Enlighten, drop in a Defiance Banner as well for some extra survivability.

Buffs

We’re linking buffs to an Arcanist Brand so you can attach it to a boss and forget about it. Cast once and enjoy the extra buffs from it!

Cast when Damage Taken Setup

Since you’re triggering a Mark in your wand, which only targets a single enemy, you’re able to curse monsters with Enfeeble as soon as you take enough Damage to proc your Cast when Damage Taken. Additionally, you’re using Immortal Call to grant you a very strong source of mitigation when it goes off.

Vaal Skill & Arcane Surge

Because Arcane Surge is a huge buff to spells, and Shield Charge doesn’t get you over gaps, you’re going to want to run a Flame Dash too. This will grant you the Arcane Surge buff whenever used, so make sure you use it occasionally (while moving towards a boss for example) to get the buff up! Additionally, this is where you run your Vaal Grace, which should be used in tricky situations.

Utility

Defiance Banner fills in the last portion of your Reservation whilst Vaal Righteous Fire is an extra Damage buff for when you’re fighting bosses. Summon Stone Golem gets you some extra regen for free basically. You don’t need to put down the banner, just having it will be a huge boost to your survivability.
